Things here in Durbs, are relativity quite when it comes to blogging, and social media. Which is kinda sad. I know of a few Durban bloggers, like Pfangirl, noodle, Ewan & edd, amongst others. Last year a local company called Immedia, climbed on board with East Coast Radio, which is Kwazulu Natal‘s regional radio station. The station hosts some of South Africa’s top broadcasting personalities, like Darren Scott & Daryl Illbury. Last year at our first 27 Dinner in Durbs, Anice from Immedia came and spoke to us about how ECR decided to implement blogs into their website. Certain shows would be able to interact off air with listeners, in a forum where listeners could respond. The response was phenomenal. The listeners grasped the concept, and left comments, were able to listen to repeats of certain sections of the show. Last night at the SA Blog awards, 3 of the blogs won 5 of the awards in 6 of their nominated categories.
