The guys from immedia down here in Durbs have done it again, and produced a cracker of an iPhone app, in the (iTunes Link – FREE). The app went to number 1 on the SA iTunes app store yesterday.
The app allows you to book and pay for upcoming Computicket events. You can search using the regional search, as well as for a specific event. The app is pretty simple to use, and the interface is clean & simple.
There are small 2 issues I have found though. 1. You can’t book for movies through the app, and 2. the app doesn’t show seating plans, which, for me, is a big factor when booking for an event. Hopefully these 2 issues will be sorted in the next version.
Well done immedia boys, looks like Durbs is growing our secret little IT hub quite nicely :)

Small issue no. 3 is that the app requires an upgrade to OS4.1, making it only practically accessible to iPhone 4 owners… Alas!
@Victoire it’s only excluding the original iPhone and iTouch owners. The 3G, 3GS , 4 and newer iTouch are compatible
Well Done
Hi everyone!
Thanks Marc for reviewing our app! Really appreciate it!
Regarding the issues:
1. Computicket don’t do movie bookings, but if they do, so will the app :-)
2. Seating plans… …stay tuned!
3. The next version will support 4.0 (all 4.x versions are supported by iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4; as well as iPod Touch 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen models.)
Loads more features coming in the next version so watch out for it!
Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Great App, but one annoying feature, whenever you search for something and there are no results for it, you get a lot of error pop ups and you cant do anything until the pop ups stop coming. I searched for rick ross and i got 5 pop ups!!
Very good looking and functional app. The best SA app that i have.
I will wait until the next version. If you can’t access seating plans to choose your seating this app is pretty useless…almost like the Ster Kinekor mobile booking site. Anyone know if Ster Kinekor and Nu Metro are planning to release Apps to book movie tickets?
Anyway, a Computicket App is definitely a step in the right direction!
Well, there is a new movie app just released on the SA App store that has both Ster Kinekor and Nu Metro movies called SA Movie Times. Not for booking but does give cinema times. Works pretty quick too.
