    UberEats Launches in Johannesburg

After proving to be a huge success in a number of cities around the world, Uber Eats has finally launched in South Africa, and in Johannesburg specifically as it’s first city.

Uber Eats works in a similar way to Uber, except here, you don’t request a car, you request food :) The app is a separate which you download, log in with your existing Uber credentials, and if you are in the specified radius of the restaurant, you can order from some really cool restaurants. The “delivery fee” is R20, which is pretty reasonable I think.

Below is a list of some of the Resturants who have signed up in Johannesburg. I am seriously impressed by the number of places, and the quality of the places to start with.

    Bistro Michel Red Chilli Spice
Cafe del Sol Rim & Rubber

Croft & Co Taste of Punjab
    Ghazal Tei Avon

It sounds like Uber Eats will be rolling out in Cape Town very soon, and hopefully, we will get to see it in Durban one day as well :)

You can also get R100 off your first order if you use the promo code “uberiguy” when signing up for Uber or UberEats

  • Uber South Africa launches Cash Payment Options

Uber South Africa launches Cash Payment Options

Earlier this week Uber South Africa launched cash payments for rides as an option. In a country where the majority of people don’t have credit cards, or cards which can be used for online purchases, cash still plays a vital role in day to day life.

So after rolling out cash payments in a number of countries before this, including Kenya, Singapore & India, Uber South Africa have launched cash payments in South Africa. This now means that when you complete your trip, you pay the driver in cash after the fare is calculated and there is no need for cards.

Anyone can use this option and all you need to sign up for an Uber account is a valid South African Mobile number. To use the cash option you can simply follow the below steps:

    ubercash1

Don’t forget that if you are a first time rider, you can use my Uber Promo Code “uberiguyza” and get R100 off your first trip!

More than just TV for your family with M-Net Movies this festive season

It’s holiday time and the kids are out of school, and driving you insane? I can relate. 3 kids, primary school and every question is, “what are we going to do today?” The great news is that M-Net Movies Family has solved this question for us in 2 very clever ways :)

Firstly, they have scheduled a fun family movie every day at 4pm on DStv channel 105.Here are some of the movies you can expect to catch this weekend: Battle for Terra, Shark Tale, Bee Movie, Turbo

And then added to this they will also be hosting kiddies DIY activity sessions this weekend to get your little-makers excited. Expect a photo booth, games, colouring-in stations, qualified child minders and activity packs to take home – themed around the festive movie line-up. The Durban activation will be at Gateway Shopping Centre from 11 – 14 December between 10am – 3pm.

The even greater news is that once those activities are complete, there are hundreds of activities such as FROZEN cut-out masks to decorate, DESPICABLE ME cupcake recipes and many more activities available on the . These are themed according to the daily film so you and your child can enjoy your creations while watching the 4pm movie.

  • Mazda relaunches in South Africa with the all new Mazda 3

Mazda relaunches in South Africa with the all new Mazda 3

I think it was around 1993 I had my first ever “driving lesson” It was a school holiday in Cape Town, and we were visiting my Aunt, who decided we should climb into her sparkly shiny Mazda 323 and go for a lesson. Needless to say there were a couple of hair raising moments, but we survived. Thankfully.

I recall a number of memories in that Mazda and the other Mazda’s in my aunts family. Not sure if they had a bit of an obsession with the brand, but I can vividly recall about 3 or 4 Mazda vehicles in their family during that period.

It’s a brand that has been around for years, and is synonymous with South Africans. And earlier this month, the all new Mazda South Africa brand launched as an independant brand from Ford with the very cool looking Mazda 3. The car sports a number of exciting new features and is priced at a very affordable R232,900

Check out the new All New Mazda 3 TV ad which was produced in SA and takes us through some of the Mazda models from yesteryear.

So if you in the market for a new car, give the guys at Mazda a shout and give the All New  to see how this brand had lived on through the years. I’ve already booked mine to see how this awesome little car performs!
