Here’s something you can add to your daily routine with your kids

If you missed my post about the awesome M-Net Movies Family activation last month, you also missed out on some really cool arts and crafts! Luckily, M-Net Movies Family loves parents so much; they’ve set up a dedicated filled with fun activities to keep little hands busy.

The best part about it is that their boards are themed around the 4pm Family movie being aired every day, so you and your child can enjoy your creations while watching the movie. If your little ones are crazy about minions, Scooby Doo, or Scrat, you need to make 4pm a permanent movie time on channel 105.

Here are what movies you can look forward to this week:

    Wall-E

    Despicable Me 2

    The Croods

    Chicken Run

    Adventures in Zambezia

    Planes

    Sammy’s Adventure

    Astro Boy

These movies aren’t just happening throughout the holidays though. The 4pm M-Net Movies Family slot will remain throughout 2015. So that you’ll have plenty of time to get creative and enjoy a classic movie with your little ones.

  • More than just TV for your family with M-Net Movies this festive season

More than just TV for your family with M-Net Movies this festive season

It’s holiday time and the kids are out of school, and driving you insane? I can relate. 3 kids, primary school and every question is, “what are we going to do today?” The great news is that M-Net Movies Family has solved this question for us in 2 very clever ways :)

Firstly, they have scheduled a fun family movie every day at 4pm on DStv channel 105.Here are some of the movies you can expect to catch this weekend: Battle for Terra, Shark Tale, Bee Movie, Turbo

And then added to this they will also be hosting kiddies DIY activity sessions this weekend to get your little-makers excited. Expect a photo booth, games, colouring-in stations, qualified child minders and activity packs to take home – themed around the festive movie line-up. The Durban activation will be at Gateway Shopping Centre from 11 – 14 December between 10am – 3pm.

The even greater news is that once those activities are complete, there are hundreds of activities such as FROZEN cut-out masks to decorate, DESPICABLE ME cupcake recipes and many more activities available on the . These are themed according to the daily film so you and your child can enjoy your creations while watching the 4pm movie.

  • Mazda relaunches in South Africa with the all new Mazda 3

Mazda relaunches in South Africa with the all new Mazda 3

I think it was around 1993 I had my first ever “driving lesson” It was a school holiday in Cape Town, and we were visiting my Aunt, who decided we should climb into her sparkly shiny Mazda 323 and go for a lesson. Needless to say there were a couple of hair raising moments, but we survived. Thankfully.

I recall a number of memories in that Mazda and the other Mazda’s in my aunts family. Not sure if they had a bit of an obsession with the brand, but I can vividly recall about 3 or 4 Mazda vehicles in their family during that period.

It’s a brand that has been around for years, and is synonymous with South Africans. And earlier this month, the all new Mazda South Africa brand launched as an independant brand from Ford with the very cool looking Mazda 3. The car sports a number of exciting new features and is priced at a very affordable R232,900

Check out the new All New Mazda 3 TV ad which was produced in SA and takes us through some of the Mazda models from yesteryear.

So if you in the market for a new car, give the guys at Mazda a shout and give the All New  to see how this brand had lived on through the years. I’ve already booked mine to see how this awesome little car performs!

  • Deregister yourself from iMessage

    Deregister yourself from iMessage

Ever sent an SMS to someone who has recently changed from an iOS device to a non iOS device ? The alarmingly red exclamation mark pops up next to the little blue message, and never gets delivered which usually ends in tears from either party. You can force the message to go through as a text message, but more often than not this new non iOS person never gets the message.

Finally Apple have quietly released a very cool tool which allows these people to de-register themselves from using iMessage, meaning their messages will always be delivered as an SMS and not iMessage.

If you still have your iPhone you can simply turn off iMessage which will then de-register you.

But, if you no longer have your iPhone, you can head on over to https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage, where you simply need to put in your cellphone number, and you will recive an SMS with a code, which you then need to enter in on the site. Simple!

Yay, I’m stoked that Apple finally came up with that much needed solution :)
